CargoChatter

Marketing website for CargoChatter, a MarketVision Technology company. Designed for website and app owners who want to offer logistics conversations inside their platforms.

Build

This is a static site with a small Python build step and no package dependencies. Published files are in dist/. Edit the page structure in src/index.template.html, the copy in dist/locales/, styles in dist/styles.css, and interactions in dist/app.js.

After changing the template or English copy, run:

python scripts/build.py

The hosting identity is in .openai/hosting.json. Preserve that project ID on subsequent updates. Use the Sites source workflow to synchronize the exact source before deployment.

GitHub Pages

The production target is https://cargochatter.com/. The workflow in .github/workflows/pages.yml rebuilds the homepage, uploads only dist/, and deploys it to GitHub Pages on pushes to main. It can also be run manually from Actions. Official GitHub actions are pinned to release commit SHAs. Assets, fonts and translation requests use relative paths so the site also works at a repository subpath.

One-time repository setup:

1. Open https://github.com/falmata-tech/cargochatter/settings/pages.
2. Under Build and deployment, choose GitHub Actions as the source.
3. Under Custom domain, save cargochatter.com before changing DNS.
4. Run Deploy CargoChatter to GitHub Pages from the Actions tab if the first run happened before Pages was enabled.
5. After DNS is correct and GitHub provisions the certificate, select Enforce HTTPS.

The custom domain must be saved in Pages settings; Actions deployments do not use a CNAME file to register it. A private repository requires an eligible GitHub plan (such as GitHub Pro). Do not change repository visibility automatically.

In GoDaddy DNS for cargochatter.com, replace the existing apex A records 15.197.148.33 and 3.33.130.190 with these four records, and edit the existing www CNAME from cargochatter.com to the value below. These existing records were checked on 27 October 2026; re-check before a later migration.

Keep the GoDaddy nameservers and unrelated email/verification records. No apex AAAA records were present at the check above; IPv6 records are optional. Do not enable GoDaddy forwarding for this connection. GitHub handles the www to apex redirect when both names are configured correctly.

Product and editorial boundaries

• The audience is owners of marketplaces, stores, directories and business applications. Emphasize provider profiles, live logistics conversations and shipment-specific quote requests.
• AfricMade is the current integration example supplied by the owner. Its public Need Transport? flow was inspected on 26 October 2026 (America/Chicago): provider selection, pickup, destination, name, phone and goods details before starting chat. No live enquiry was submitted.
• Site owners choose the providers shown in their chat window. A provider discusses the quote and transport service with the customer.
• Every chat surface must say Powered by CargoChatter, exactly, including translated pages. Keep it legible and linked.

• Keep copy direct and restrained. Avoid exaggerated promises, invented metrics, testimonials, instant-price claims, unsupported SDKs or plugin badges, and repeated sales pitches.

Preview behavior

The widget is an interactive demonstration, not a live chat backend. The SharedTrucks description reflects the existing business; the parcel and freight partners are clearly marked examples. Demo messages and provider changes stay in memory. No provider is contacted.

The contact form prepares a reviewable email draft addressed to the existing MarketVision contact, marketvision.tech@gmail.com. It does not send automatically. It provides a copy option for visitors who do not use a local mail application.

English, Amharic, Afaan Oromoo and Somali are supported. The language selector updates ?lang=, keeps the section and in-progress inputs, and remembers the language locally. Fonts are self-hosted with their OFL licenses in dist/assets/.

Research references

The website takes the embedded-customer-journey pattern from official descriptions of similar services. CargoChatter capabilities come from the owner’s brief; comparator capabilities are not implied for CargoChatter.

Brand files

Scalable logo lockups, mark, favicon and a centered white-background icon are in dist/assets/. The wordmark is vector paths, with natural letter proportions. PNG exports and a 1200 × 630 sharing image are included.

Verification

Syntax, HTML IDs/anchors/labels, local assets, translation key and placeholder parity, and source-contract checks pass. Browser preview verification could not complete because the cloud browser timed out. Do not describe desktop/mobile visual checks or end-to-end browser tests as passed until they have actually run.
